Calling all planning students! Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 CIP/ICU Planning Student Trust Fund’s (CIP-PSTF) scholarship program. All CIP Student members enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian planning program are eligible to apply.

Scholarships are awarded for student projects (by one student or a small team) that best demonstrate excellence and a potential contribution to the planning profession (in theory or practice), or a potential service to a community or community group.

This year's scholarship offerings are:

  • $6,000 – CIP-PSTF Excellence in Planning Research Scholarship

  • $5,000 – CIP Healthy Communities Planning Scholarship

  • $5,000 – CIP Housing Action Scholarship

  • $5,000 – CIP Indigenous Communities Planning Scholarship

  • $5,000 – CIP Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in Planning Scholarship

  • $4,000 – Glenn Tunnock Climate Change Action Scholarship

  • $3,000 – CIP-PSTF Innovation in Planning Scholarship

See CIP-PSTF's scholarships page for more details.

And there's a bonus! Thanks to the generous funding from the Ages Foundation, each of our scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the CIP/OUQ national conference, FUSION, held in Montreal from July 7 to 9, 2026. All recipients will be able to participate in the full conference and receive their honours in person.

Application Deadline: February 16, 2026, 11:59 p.m. PT
