BURSARIES
Bursaries are awarded to students who are in need of financial assistance to support their education. In addition to their funding, bursary recipients receive a certificate, and a digital badge.
2025 Bursaries: applications are open and accepted from August 5 to October 10, 2025.
ELIGIBILITY
An applicant must be:

A student member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) in good standing for the current academic year. Professional (MCIP®) and candidate members who have returned to school are not eligible for scholarships.

Enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian planning program during the term of the awarding of the scholarship.

In need of financial assistance to support their education, as evidenced by government student loan documents or equivalent justification.
SUBMISSIONS
Students may apply via an online form during the application period.
Information collected includes:

A description of the applicant's background and how they became interested in planning

A description of the applicant's studies, noting any particular areas of interest/focus, as well as any academic achievements

A current résumé, demonstrating the applicant’s past and present commitments to their community or the planning profession

A description of how the applicant's planning education will, in theory or in practice, benefit or provide a potential service to a community or community group

A description of how CIP-PSTF's financial support will help the applicant achieve their educational objectives

Government student loan documents or equivalent evidence of the need for financial assistance to support the applicant’s education

Additional documents as may be required for specific bursaries
Members of an equity-deserving group are asked to self-identify.
