Calling all Canadian planning students! Applications are now open for the 2023 CIP-ICU Planning Student Trust Fund’s (CIP-PSTF) scholarship and bursaries program. All CIP student members enrolled in a full-time accredited Canadian planning program are eligible to apply.
Since 1989, CIP-PSTF has awarded 143 scholarships to planning students across Canada, totaling over $455,000.
Scholarships are awarded for student projects that best demonstrate excellence and a potential contribution to the planning profession (in theory or practice), or a potential service to a community or community group. Bursaries are awarded to students who are in need of financial assistance to support their education.
CIP-PSTF funds also provide opportunities for equity-deserving groups. This year, a new fund, the Diversity Impact Bursary, was created by CIP to support Black students and students of colour to address the issue of under-representation in the planning profession. In 2022, the SOAR Professional Services Indigenous Student Bursary was introduced for Indigenous students working towards a planning degree.
