VOLUNTEER

Call for CIP-PSTF Directors

The CIP/ICU Planning Student Trust Fund (CIP-PSTF), the Canadian planning profession’s national charity, is now seeking Directors to join the Board for the 2026/2029 term. Anyone interested in governance, fundraising, awareness-raising—and of course, supporting the education of future planners—will find meaningful opportunities to be involved!

Why should I volunteer?

You’ll Develop Your Skills

You’ll learn about organizational governance, financial resource management, policy development, strategic planning, fundraising, and improve your communication and teamworking skills. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to serve on one of CIP-PSTF’s standing committees.

You’ll Expand your Network

You’ll have the chance to work with planning professionals from across the country, meet the CIP-PSTF recipients, and promote CIP-PSTF in the planning ecosystem.

You’ll Make an Impact

To date, CIP-PSTF has provided over $600,000 in scholarships and bursaries! You will help to oversee the scholarship, bursary, and awards programs which bring critical financial support to planning students.

Am I eligible to be a Director?

To be eligible for election, nominees must be members in good standing of CIP-PSTF (membership is free and you can apply for it in your nomination!) and meet specific experience or competency requirements. Please read the CIP-PSTF Director Role Description and Qualifications document closely before applying.

CIP-PSTF celebrates and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion by offering equal volunteer opportunities to all qualified individuals without regard to race, colour, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or appearance. CIP-PSTF believes that having volunteers who reflect the diversity of the Canadian population makes us stronger.

How can I apply?

Please complete and submit the online application form below by 3:00 pm ET on May 1, 2026. Any questions can be directed to Hannah Whitworth at impact@cip-icu.ca.

Note: The Nominations Subcommittee will review the nominations received and staff will contact the nominees of their decision. The election of Directors will take place at CIP-PSTF’s AGM on June 15, 2026.
