Is there a limit to the number of scholarships and bursaries that can be awarded to one individual?An eligible student may be awarded a maximum of one (1) scholarship only under the CIP-PSTF scholarship awards program over the course of their undergraduate and master’s level studies. An eligible student may be awarded a maximum of one (1) bursary per year under the CIP-PSTF program, with no limit to the number of bursaries an individual student may receive over the course of their undergraduate and master’s level studies.

How do I apply for all scholarships or bursaries available?An applicant only needs to submit one complete application for scholarships, and one complete application for bursaries, in order to be considered for all of the offerings for which they are eligible.

Does receiving the Outstanding Graduating Student Award impact my application for scholarships or bursaries?Receiving the Outstanding Graduating Student Award has no impact on eligibility for a scholarship or bursary.

Are there any scholarships, bursaries, or awards for PhD students?At this time, there are no offerings for PhD students.

Are group projects allowed to be submitted as part of a scholarship application?The Glenn Tunnock Climate Change Action scholarship allows for group submissions. If you are submitting a group project in the realm of climate change research, ensure that you have answered yes to the question, "Are you submitting a team submission for the Climate Change Action Scholarship?"

I am an international student. Am I eligible for scholarships, bursaries, and awards?Yes, international students are eligible for scholarships, bursaries, and awards, as long as they meet the listed eligibility requirements and submit an application.

Are CIP-PSTF scholarships, bursaries, and awards available to students in non-planning programs?No. CIP-PSTF scholarships, bursaries, and awards are awarded to CIP Student members (membership is free) who are enrolled in an accredited Canadian planning program (accredited by PSB or OUQ) during the term in which they are awarded.

Are scholarship and bursary applications open at the same time?No. As of 2024, scholarship and bursary applications are open for applications at different times of the year. Bursary applications open in the fall, and scholarship applications open in the winter.

I am a first year student. Can I apply for a scholarship or bursary before my first semester begins?Yes, you are able to apply as long as you have been officially accepted into an accredited Canadian planning program, and are able to supply any of the necessary information outlined in the eligibility guidelines.
